Fluffles Devlog #1: Moving from concept to full game loop!
Fluffles started life as a different type of platformer, a far more complex type of platformer. The kind an ambitious dev designs and thinks “yeah, this is small scope” when it absolutely wasn’t.
That game still exists and grows - the upside of having multiple projects use the same custom homemade engine. Though the focus now turns to a more scaled-down project: Fluffles. Shapeshifting and monster capture can wait - lets hunt some ghosts!
The first big push was to not just load straight into the demo level, but add UI(!) and have a flow from title screen to the results at the end of a level (whether its game over or successful escape!) and back to the level select again.
I promise you, popping these scenes in (even if you’re using placeholder graphics!) makes the game really start to feel real!
